Apply to this jobThe Calvin University School of Business is seeking an adjunct professor to teach ACCT 508, Taxation, during the Fall 2026 semester. This course is part of the Master of Accounting degree. This course is an introduction to the fundamental principles of taxation related to the formation, operation, and termination of corporations and partnership. Included are entity-related tax implications for shareholders and partners. Additional topics include multi-state taxation, international taxation, the taxation of not-for-profit entities, and sales/use/value added tax.
The course runs from August 31 to December 17 and is currently scheduled to meet from 8:40-10:20 a.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, in person, at the Calvin University School of Business building. Flexibility on class meeting time is limited.
Requirements:
A master’s degree or above in accounting or applicable business-related experience is required; applicants who also have five or more years of teaching experience are preferred.
All applicants must demonstrate the potential to teach effectively using a variety of methods and instructional technology as required.
A commitment to the Christian faith and a willingness to integrate that faith into classroom teaching and student development is essential. Candidates are expected to affirm the Apostle’s Creed, the Nicene Creed, and the Athanasian Creed.
Responsibilities:
Prepare course materials and employ appropriate pedagogical strategies to promote student success in university-level courses.
Fulfill administrative duties such as tracking attendance, submitting grades, and maintaining timely communication with students, faculty, and staff.
Comply with Calvin University employment requirements, including mandatory online training modules.
