About the role
Symetra offers several internship opportunities with our different Actuarial areas. This is a full-time, paid internship taking place in summer/fall 2026. This internship is 100% remote with the option to work from a Symetra office if local. The duration is 3 months, during which you will have the opportunity to work with experienced actuaries who focus on various functions including pricing, reserving, and reporting.
You will get hands-on experience and work-ready skills while using various actuarial software applications. Through diverse and critical projects, you will gain valuable experience in the exciting and high-growth field of actuarial science!

Reimbursement for one ACTEX or ASM study manual and one exam registration fee.
Requirements:
Your education, experience, and skills
- Bachelor's degree in progress or completed with a strong quantitative background including college level mathematics
- Beginner to intermediate level proficiency with Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
- Strong analytical, problem solving, and communication skills
- Strong technical skills and SQL, R, and/or Python modeling experience preferred
- Ability to work collaboratively with others
Compensation:
Hourly Range: $22.00-25.00
Work Authorization
Employer work visa sponsorship and support are not provided for this role. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at hire and must maintain authorization to work in the United States throughout their employment with our company.
