A Brief Overview
The Actuarial Director plays a critical role in supporting and advancing the actuarial function in partnership with the Chief Actuary. This position contributes to the development and execution of pricing strategies, risk management frameworks, and financial planning initiatives. This role is expected and accountable for contributing to efforts to ensure actuarial integrity, profitability, and strategic alignment across the organization's insurance and professional service fee products.

What you will do

  • Collaborate with the Chief Actuary to develop and implement pricing strategies and frameworks for all insurance and professional service fee products.
  • Lead actuarial analysis and modeling efforts to support financial forecasting, risk assessment, and strategic decision-making.
  • Deliver clear and impactful reports and presentations on actuarial topics to internal and external stakeholders, including executive leadership.
  • Support the medical insurance analytics function, including forecasting financial outcomes and providing market and financial plan guidance.
  • Partner with business leaders to develop strategies for specific lines of business, ensuring alignment with actuarial best practices.
  • Provide data-driven recommendations to senior leadership on short-, medium-, and long-term goals.
  • Participate in annual and long-term planning processes, contributing actuarial insights to broader business strategies.
  • Maintain and enhance actuarial systems, models, and procedures to ensure accuracy, relevance, and alignment with business needs.
  • Foster a collaborative and development-focused culture within the actuarial team, emphasizing coaching, feedback, and continuous learning.
  • Oversee reserving processes, ensuring data completeness and accuracy in financial reporting systems, and maintaining strong internal controls
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Complies with all policies and standards

Education Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, Math or related field required

Experience Qualifications

  • Typically, 15+ years of actuarial experience required
  • Experience working in health and welfare consulting with large and small groups preferred
  • Experience working with Health Insurance Carriers preferred

The salary range for this role is $122,200.00 to $268,900.00. The candidate’s final salary offer will be based on the candidate’s skills, education, work location and experience.

A candidate’s compensation may also include bonuses consistent with TriNet’s corporate bonus plan.
