About Role

Milliman is looking for bright, enthusiastic and experienced individuals, keen to broaden their consulting and management skills as an Actuarial Associate in our life insurance consulting team in Mumbai. 

The position provides a great opportunity for someone to take a pivotal role in a dynamic market and be involved in building Milliman’s local life insurance consulting business.

The ideal candidate would:

  • have made good progress towards actuarial exams or is newly qualified
  • be self-motivated
  • have had exposure in modelling related work / projects (ideally using Prophet), financial reporting and insurance regulation. Knowledge of actuarial software and commonly used software is preferred
  • have good written and verbal communication skills in English
  • be well-presented and have strong networking and business development skills
  • have an appreciation of the need to be client focused and work in a collaborative environment
  • be able to uphold the quality of work delivered to clients, following Milliman’s quality assurance standards

The successful candidate will broaden their experience and skills while:

  • contributing to Milliman's growth in India through business development and project delivery
  • contributing to the strategy and direction for the Indian life insurance practice
  • preparing proposals, engaging with clients, managing client relationships, billing, etc.
  • building Milliman's brand in India through thought leadership, speaking engagements, etc.
  • interacting with other leaders in Milliman, especially within the Greater Asia life insurance practice

The candidate can expect to be involved in mergers & acquisitions, financial reporting and IFRS17, business/product strategy work in addition to traditional actuarial work. 

The role will include direct consulting exposure to Indian life insurance clients and other stakeholders in the Indian life insurance space. The candidate will be expected to contribute to a wider variety of projects.

This role will involve exposure to work in India and other markets around the region and may involve international travel from time to time.
