Job description

BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for the daily accounting administration of the mortgage loan investor reporting program.

TYPICAL DUTIES
Maintains designee and Experian Billing spreadsheets.

Researches market prices for loan sales. Commits and delivers loans to investor.

Remits daily P& I funds to the federal agency using the current reporting medium.

Reviews the federal agency purchase advices for accuracy, makes certain that proceeds for sold loans are received and makes appropriate accounting entries.

Reports monthly loan information to the federal agency using the current reporting medium.

Balances ATM’s to the GL and Miracle Settlement Summary. Prepares monthly reconciliation on ATM GL.

Maintains prepaid expenses. Runs monthly depreciation on prepaid expenses

Balances and prepares formal end of month reconciliations on assigned general ledger accounts.

Reviews daily reports for loan sales and payment activity. Tracks transactions to various general ledger accounts and verifies balances in P&I and T&I custodial accounts.

Reviews monthly reports and prepares the reconciliation of mortgage portfolio, reconciliation of interest rate/pass-thru rate, P&I and T&I custodial account analysis reports.

Communicates with the federal agency analyst to report and resolve any problems that may arise with the remitting and reporting process.
Provides support to the Mortgage department concerning accounting procedures for bond lending programs.

Works with internal and external auditors and examiners during periodic audits, provides documentation and explanations as necessary.

Maintain and understand compliance to ensure that work complies with GECU’s established policies, procedures and applicable regulations, to include Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering Act (AML) addressing Money Laundering and the Countering the Financing of Terrorism (CFT), Member Identification Program (MIP), and Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC).

Other duties as may be assigned or required in connection with the general operation of the credit union.
