Accounting Officer

We are seeking an Accounting Officer with substantial experience in the banking sector to join our Loan Risk Review (LRR) Team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring strict compliance with applicable financial, regulatory, and tax reporting requirements, whilst contributing to the timely and accurate preparation of the Bank and Special Purpose Vehicle's (SPV) annual Financial Statements.

Main Tasks:

• Produce and deliver the regulatory reports on an accurate and timely manner for the entities under remit
• Implement controls and reviews on the regulatory reports with respect to their compliance with local regulatory reporting rules
• Act as interlocutor towards Central Bank of Portugal on all regulatory returns arising during and after the reporting periods on the designated reports submitted under responsibility
• Recommend and seek to implement procedures and processes that improve the quality of the reports
• Work across Finance and other functions within the Bank to collaborate and develop cross-validation of reported numbers and promote understanding of regulatory reporting requirements and impacts
• Collaborate in projects related with regulatory reporting and accounting
• Contribute to the maintenance, under the coordination of Fresh Team, of a detailed issue log report ensuring follow-up on the matters arising during the course of the monthly financial reporting process
• Ensure the existence of up to date procedures and controls to cover all activities under the scope of responsibility
• Participate in the monthly closing process
• Produce and deliver the regulatory reports 
• Financial analysis  

Technical skills:

• Chartered Accountant is a plus

Compensation (from employer):
