Accounting Manager (bank)

The Accounting Manager in the direct banking industry is responsible for overseeing financial operations, regulatory compliance, and risk management in a fast-paced digital banking environment. This role ensures accurate financial reporting, adherence to banking regulations, knowledge of banking regulations, especially the Manual of Regulations for Banks (MORB) and efficient management of accounting processes while leading a team of finance professionals.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain accounting principles, practices, and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
• Prepare financial statements, budgets, and cash flow forecasts on a regular basis, including project finances and progress reports.
• Monitor and analyze financial data and prepare financial reports for management.
• Ensure compliance with local and national financial regulations and tax requirements, including filings with BIR
• Coordinate and manage the annual audit process. ensuring adherence to risk management and financial controls.
• Monitor financial performance and key banking metrics, such as net interest margin, loan loss provisions, and deposit growth.
• Implement automation and digital accounting solutions to improve financial processes.
• Collaborate with technology and compliance teams to support the integration of fintech solutions.

Qualifications:

• Graduate with a BS Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is a plus.
• Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience in the banking or financial services sector.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, standards and tax regulation/laws.
• Strong knowledge of banking regulations, financial reporting standards, and risk management.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Oracle Financials, SAP, or bank-specific platforms)
• Strong leadership with skills in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and management accounting.
