We’re looking for an Accounting Manager to own the month-end close process and raise the bar on the accuracy and rigor of our GL accounting. You’ll manage a team of three accountants, review their work, and roll up your sleeves to help build out more complex reconciliations as the business scales.
Key Responsibilities
Own and drive the month-end close process end-to-end, ensuring deadlines are met and the close calendar stays on track
Review journal entries prepared by the accounting team for accuracy, completeness, and proper support
Review account reconciliations, ensuring discrepancies are identified, explained, and resolved timely
Partner with team members to design and build out more complex reconciliations, including process documentation and templates
Manage, coach, and develop a team of 3 accountants; provide regular feedback and support career growth
Identify and implement process improvements to increase close efficiency and reduce risk
Serve as a point of escalation for accounting questions and judgment calls from the team
Partner with the Assistant Controller on technical accounting matters, audit prep, and ad hoc projects
Ensure GL activity is properly supported and compliant with US GAAP
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including prior experience reviewing the work of others
Strong working knowledge of US GAAP and month-end close processes
Experience managing or mentoring a team preferred
Proficiency with GL systems (e.g., NetSuite) and Excel required
CPA a plus, not required
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced startup environment
