Position: Accessibility Field Technician I - Phoenix, AZ

The Accessibility Field Technician I will be collecting the data to be used in creating Accessibility Plans, for ramp and right - of-way collection. These plans are used by cities and other agencies to ensure the streets and sidewalks are compliant for individuals with disabilities.

Responsibilities:

Receive specialized training and become proficient in the use of collection technology.
Learn various methods for assessing and measuring sidewalk and curb ramp features.
Identify and record information on obstructions that might affect accessibility.
Calibrate and maintain testing equipment.
Troubleshoot problems in the field.
Create and maintain activity logs.
Provide relevant information regarding progress to supervisors.

Qualifications and Physical Demands:

Must be organized, proactive and detail oriented.
Familiar with or able to quickly learn new technologies.
High level of accountability required for the work product.
Able to be on feet or standing 8 + hours per day.
Must have dexterity in the use of fingers, limbs or body to perform movements required to operate equipment.
Must have visual acuity to operate a motor vehicle.
Must be able to bend and/or squat, maneuver, lift and push/pull up a minimum of 105 lbs.
Must be able to meet structural weight limit requirements.
The Maximum Payload (Rider plus all Cargo) is 260lbs (117 kg).
The minimum rider weight is 100lbs (45 kg).
Able to constantly work outdoors in a variety of climates.
Must be able to occasionally work weekends, holidays, and overtime.
Must have valid drivers license.
