As part of our commitment to growing future talent, we've created a brand-new Wealth Cadet opportunity! Designed for ambitious early-career professionals, this role offers a unique pathway to develop your expertise in wealth management while learning from some of New Zealand's most experienced advisers.

You'll gain hands-on exposure, build technical, business and relationship management capability, and be supported by a network of leaders, mentors and peers invested in your success. This is an exciting opportunity to join a newly established programme designed to develop the next generation of Wealth professionals at Westpac. The programme is structured to equip you with the qualifications, experience and confidence needed to progress into a Wealth Adviser role, creating a clear pathway for a long-term career in our Wealth team.

Ngā mea kia whai angitū ahau? – What do I need to be successful?

To be considered for this role you must already have Best Customer Advice (internal) OR the Level 5 Financial Services Core (external) qualification.

In addition to the above you’ll bring:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust.
  • Great organisation, attention to detail and a professional approach.
  • A proactive mindset, natural curiosity and motivation to keep learning.
  • A genuine interest in wealth management, financial markets and client outcomes.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Confidence collaborating with others, sharing knowledge and adapting as you learn.
  • A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Commerce, Economics or a related field would be a bonus.

Just as important, you’ll be thoughtful, dependable and comfortable working in a regulated environment, where doing the right thing for clients and managing risk well are part of everyday mahi.
