Job description

Bring your energy to Aggreko as part of our Veterans Talent Community for Generator & Temperature Control Technicians across Swindon, Sutton, Bedford, Plymouth, Sizewell, Doncaster, Widnes, Dumbarton and Washington. Whether you're a Service Leaver planning your transition or a Veteran looking for your next challenge, we're always interested in connecting with talented engineers who can help us deliver critical power and temperature control solutions to customers around the world.

Power without pause. Heating, cooling and oil-free air without end. We keep our customers' worlds on. From world-class events that last a few weeks to mining operations and remote communities who rely on us for decades.

What you'll do as a Generator or Temperature Control Technician:

  • Maintain, service and repair power generation or temperature control equipment, ensuring it is safe, reliable and ready for deployment.

  • Diagnose faults and carry out inspections, testing and commissioning activities to industry-leading standards.

  • Support customers by helping deliver critical power, heating and cooling solutions when and where they are needed most.

  • Work collaboratively with depot and field teams to maximise equipment availability and operational performance.

  • Champion safety, quality and continuous improvement in everything you do.

You are:

  • A Veteran, Reservist or Service Leaver with an engineering, mechanical, electrical or technical background.

  • Experienced in maintaining mission-critical equipment such as generators, vehicles, plant, electrical systems, HVAC equipment, communications assets or other complex machinery.

  • Comfortable diagnosing faults, solving technical problems and working in fast-paced operational environments.

  • Someone who understands the importance of teamwork, accountability and delivering under pressure.

  • Keen to continue learning and developing new skills within a world-class engineering organisation.

Here's what you'll get:

  • A direct route into a civilian engineering career with a business that values military experience and transferable skills.

  • Industry-leading training on power generation and temperature control equipment, with clear development pathways.

  • Competitive salary, annual bonus opportunity and comprehensive benefits package including pension and life assurance.

  • 30 days annual leave plus public holidays, with the flexibility to buy or sell additional leave where applicable.

  • A supportive team environment where leadership, resilience, problem-solving and service values are recognised and rewarded.

  • Opportunities across our depots and in field based roles in Swindon, Sutton, Bedford, Plymouth, Sizewell, Doncaster, Widnes, Dumbarton and Washington.

Many of our technicians come from backgrounds including REME, Royal Engineers, Royal Signals, Royal Navy Engineering Branches, RAF Engineering Trades and other military technical specialisms. If you've spent your career keeping critical equipment operational and ready for action, you'll find plenty of similarities in the work we do at Aggreko.

Our people are can-do, positive, resilient and persistent. If that feels like you, apply now and build your career with the people bringing energy to the world.
