The successful candidate should ideally have a degree in a relevant discipline such as Electrical /Electronic Engineering.
The role of a Software Engineer will require the individual to undertake the following duties:
- Control and instrumentation systems functional specification and design, PLC system software configuration.
- Understanding, interpreting and responding to the needs of other departments.
Production of control and instrumentation design documentation and drawings including:
- Specifications, P&IDs, Control philosophies, Instrument schedules and Control system & communications block diagrams
- Undertake site surveys of existing installations
- Undertake Site based commissioning work if required
- Liaison with clients both internal and external
Candidates will have as a minimum of 1 year’s experience and ideally a BTEC National Electrical/Electronic Engineering, be computer literate and able to work effectively with Microsoft Office as a minimum.
- Design experience within the Water Industry sector would be an advantage.
- Including in areas such as potable water production and distribution and waste water treatment.

Combinations of other PLC, HMI or SCADA configuration skills may be considered if a significant level of experience has been attained.
- Must be able to deliver projects on time and within budget
- Work within our established Quality Management System, ISO9001:2001 TickIT
- Good keyboard skills and IT literacy (ideally Word, Excel and Access)
- Good organisational skills, accuracy and attention to detail
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work on own initiative without supervision.
- Ability to cope under pressure
- Full UK driving licence
