Residential Care Assistant

Stratton Mills are an employment agency who provide Care Staff around the UK. We have a great opportunity for Residential Care Assistants. Successful candidates will be offered full time shifts on a temp to perm basis.

• Hours: 36 hours/week
• Immediate Start

Duties for the Residential Care Assistant Role:

• To look after the physical, emotional, cultural and social needs of the Clients using a person-centred approach.
• To observe and promote the Service Users choice, independence, dignity, privacy, fulfilment and other rights.
• To create and maintain good professional relationships with Service Users, their Family and Friends.
• To actively support other Care Assistants.
• To adhere to all regulatory/statutory obligations, policies, procedures and guidelines.
• To actively market Stratton Mills and promote a positive, personal and professional profile.

Ideal Residential Care Assistant Candidate:

• Takes time to listen to the person to whom they provide care.
• Must be able to understand, remember and follow tasks, even whilst working under pressure.
• Have a kind and patient demeanour.
• Treats Service Users with dignity and respect that result in trust and cooperation.
• Sustain a nurturing environment.
• Understands and adheres to policies/regulations.
• Has the emotional strength to care for those who may be terminally ill, or suffering from post-traumatic experiences.
• Good observation skills to watch for and identify signs of change in a person's well-being.
• Uses a diplomatic tone of voice and effective body language to engage in difficult and challenging situations with the service user.
