Who are we?

Seloxium Limited is a dynamic and diverse spin-out company from the University of Oxford. We are revolutionising clean growth and the circular economy within the mining & refining sectors by selectively recovering high-value metals from in-process or effluent water streams. Our multi-patented ‘selective flocculation’ technology will change the way we mine, refine and process these metals, offering a greener and more sustainable solution to metallic resource recovery and reuse. We are reshaping the way valuable metals are recovered from industrial waste streams and other secondary resources, transforming environmental and process challenges into exciting opportunities for resource recovery. 

We are a fast-paced company at an exciting stage of development, scaling our operations across two sites — an R&D laboratory and back-office function in Oxford, and a pilot processing plant in the North East of England. As we grow, we are looking for an enthusiastic Process Engineer (Scale up). This is an on-site role based in Redcar, Teesside, TS10 4RF, U.K.

As a Process Engineer (Scale up) you will play a vital role in supporting Seloxium in the process engineering department and with Seloxium’s obligations linked to its recent success with European funding. This role would support a vital bridge between development work and engineering. This hands-on and engaging role offers you the chance to work at the forefront of sustainable metal recovery technologies within an innovative and collaborative environment.

Requirements

This role is for you if you have :

  • A relevant degree (MEng BEng) in Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline with an emphasis on design engineering and industrial facilities management. 
  • Experience in scale-up and technology commercialisation.
  • 10+ years’ experience with a focus on process engineering scale up, chemical/process and design engineering within a pilot plant.
  • Experience collaborating with a process design engineering team. 
  • Chemical design engineering and mass balance capability.
  • A plant-facing mindset and ability to collate and use data analytics effectively.
  • Process safety/DSEAR awareness and excellent diligence for documentation, maintaining meticulous records.

You are also likely to have:

  • A professional engineering qualification or certification
  • Project Management experience
