Principal Fire Engineer

Location: Flexible Across the UK

Salary: Competitive + car allowance £4,800 per annum + fantastic benefits

🔥 What You’ll Be Doing

  • Leading fire strategy and building control assessments for complex, high‑risk and high‑value new build and conversion projects
  • Using specialist software to assess Qualitative Design Reviews (QDRs), fire strategies and CFD modelling
  • Working closely with developers, builders and professional advisors from concept to completion to ensure proposals meet all relevant regulations and standards
  • Delivering technical presentations to internal and external audiences
  • Supporting the training, coaching and mentoring of colleagues
  • Managing your own workload to meet service level expectations
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant health and safety requirements

 

🔍 What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking an expert Fire Engineer, ideally with (or working towards) membership of the Institute of Fire Engineers.

You will have:

  • Deep knowledge of fire engineering, particularly smoke control solutions
  • Strong familiarity with Smoke Control Association guidance and relevant British Standards
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A proactive, self‑motivated approach and a willingness to contribute to the development of the role
  • A collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
