Job Location - St. Austell

Hours of work - Shift pattern (day and nights)

Day Shift: 

Week 1: 6am – 6pm - Mon, Tue, Fri, Sat & Sun (Wed & Thurs off) Week 2: 6am – 6pm Wed & Thurs (Mon, Tue, Fri, Sat & Sun off)
Night Shift: 

Week 3: 6pm – 6am - Mon, Tue, Fri, Sat & Sun (Wed & Thurs off) Week 4: 6pm – 6am Wed & Thurs (Mon, Tue, Fri, Sat & Sun off)

Salary - £31,907.07

Job Purpose

To be a part of a team operating and controlling processes to produce quality kaolin in a slurry form, ready to be sent to the next processing stage to achieve the predefined planning targets. This must be done in compliance of all  policies and procedures and comply to ESHQ rules both set by Imerys and also all legal responsibilities as defined by Government and compliance  bodies, including but not exclusively, the HSE, EA, ISO and local governing bodies.

The teams provide 24/7 production capability, meaning we have the opportunity to operate at all times, depending on demand. This can mean working on bank holidays 

The role is a mixture of computer work and on-site checks and adjustments, using heavy fixed machinery and small vehicles, with lighter tools and instruments as well.

There may be occasions where tasks outside of the standard process will be requested, which will be reasonable and practicable

Roles and Responsibilities

  • To operate and control the defined process according to L3 operating procedures

  • To be responsible for your own safety and others around you, using training and tools provided

  • To have a strong focus on ensuring ESHQ remains the top priority

  • To report all accidents/incidents/near misses/ at risk conditions and behaviour

  • Recording and reporting process operating conditions and performance

  • To communicate deviations in a timely manner

  • Maintain good housekeeping throughout the plant/site

  • To fully engage in all training and to adhere to the training given

  • To proactively be involved in continuous improvement processes, including improvement suggestions and daily communication rituals

About You

You are a reliable, safety-focused operative with hands-on industrial experience,. You work well independently, maintain excellent housekeeping standards and contribute to a safe, efficient production environment.

You will have

  • Valid driving license

  • Good numeracy, literacy and IT competence

  • Understanding of health, safety and environmental protocols

  • Industrial experience is preferred

  • Safety-focused with strong communication skills
