Overview

Specialist role Technical Architect

Summary of the work

We are looking for a technical architect throughout a discovery stage which will potentially require changes in legislation to change lasting power of attorney into a fully digital service and digital deed.

Expected contract length 10 weeks initial contract

About the work 

Who the specialist will work with

A product owner, delivery manager, user researcher and subject matter experts are already in place. To compliment this we are looking for a service designer, and technical architect.

What the specialist will work on

  1. Technical leadership of a fully digital discovery for the lasting power of attorney service 
  2. User-led discovery of the fully digital service working with technical experts and existing staff

Work setup

Address where the work will take place

Across three sites in Birmingham, Nottingham and occasionally London.

Working arrangements

Individuals should be based in either the Birmingham or Nottingham office for at least three days a week for face-to-face meetings. Expenses will be in accordance with civil service guidelines

Skills and experience

Technical competence: essential skills and experience

  • Knowledge or experience of working with verify
  • Effectively capture, utilise and share customer insight and views from a diverse range of stakeholders to ensure better policy and delivery
  • Make difficult decisions by pragmatically weighing the complexities involved against the need to act
  • Balance policy aspiration and delivery, outline risk and benefits of different options to achieve value for money ensuring all submissions contain appropriate financial information
  • Weigh up priority and benefits of different actions and activities to consider how to achieve cost effective outcomes
  • Establish how the business area compares to customer service expectations and industry best practice and identify necessary improvements in plans
  • Comprehensive and recent experience designing and implementing complex software systems, i.e. is an active software developer currently engaged in architecting and building high-volume digital services
  • Proven capability in managing technology implementation projects and in presenting to / working with stakeholders at every level of seniority
  • Knowledge of Agile product management, in particular determination of vision, objectives, goals and success criteria
