To excel in this role, you'll need

  1. Previous experience working on the Openreach OH/UG network
  2. Experience splicing, dressing fibre within closure trays internal/external, labelling cables and trays as per the job pack/schedule.
  3. Understanding of how to use an OTDR, optical power meters and various methods of testing and fibre fault finding PON/optical networks.
  4. NRSWA Unit 2 - Signing Lighting and guarding
  5. Experience of connecting customers from the access node; installing fibre drop cable, CSP, ONT and in home CPE.
  6. Able to prove duct routes in both Exascale and Openreach PIA networks using rod and roping methods
  7. Demonstrable experience in cable and sub-duct pulling techniques
  8. Knowledge of how to blow large fibre count cables over 2-4km distances, fleeting cable at mid-span points.
  9. Willingness to travel between distribution and spine network deployment sites/areas.
  10. Ability to work in confined spaces from time to time, such as manholes.
  11. Set up a area of work safely inline with the various regulations
