Job description

We are looking for an experienced Part-Time Insurance Accountant (2 days a week) to join a Lloyd’s of London insurer, focusing on the management accounts function. This is a great opportunity for a finance professional with London Market insurance experience seeking a flexible part-time role within a highly respected insurer.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain the general ledger
  • Prepare monthly management accounts, including P&L and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Manage month-end close activities (accruals, prepayments, journals)
  • Perform expense variance analysis and resolve reconciliation issues
  • Support cash flow and treasury management
  • Prepare intercompany and recurring journals
  • Submit VAT and P11D returns
  • Run monthly payroll and process expenses
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, audits, and tax pack preparation
  • Ad-hoc management reporting and financial analysis
  • Continual development of reporting solutions.

Requirements

  • Accounting experience, ideally within the Lloyd’s/London Market
  • Strong management accounts experience
  • Good understanding of month-end and financial reporting processes
  • Strong reconciliation and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage deadlines in a part-time capacity
