Maintenance Fitter

Location: Nuneaton

£41,730 plus shift allowance, paid overtime and production bonus

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Maintenance Fitter to join our team, playing a vital role in ensuring the reliable production of packaged materials.

This position is central to maintaining operational efficiency, providing both proactive and reactive maintenance, and supporting the ongoing performance and longevity of key site assets.

You will work as part of a dedicated engineering team, delivering specialist support to maximise production output while ensuring full compliance with legal and company standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) in line with site requirements

  • Respond to breakdowns with effective reactive maintenance solutions

  • Maintain plant, equipment, and site assets to the highest standards

  • Ensure all work complies with legal requirements and Heidelberg Materials standards

  • Support site operations in achieving production targets

  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in maintenance and reliability

  • Promote and maintain a strong safety-first culture across all activities

Key Accountabilities

  • Achieve and actively contribute to a Target of Zero Harm

  • Ensure full legal compliance at all times

  • Work in accordance with the National Integrated Management System (IMS)

  • Deliver high-quality workmanship and attention to detail

  • Support a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence

  • Lead by example through professional and safe working practices

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience in a maintenance or engineering role (ideally within an industrial or production environment)

  • Strong mechanical skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve faults

  • Understanding of health, safety, and compliance standards

  • Proactive approach to maintenance and problem-solving

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

  • Commitment to high standards and continuous improvement
