Job description

Aureol Global Connections is seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Machine Driver to operate heavy plant and construction machinery safely and efficiently on construction and civil engineering sites. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out excavation, lifting, loading, grading, and material handling activities while ensuring compliance with site procedures, health and safety regulations, and project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate heavy plant and construction machinery safely and efficiently.
  • Operate equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, dump trucks, loading shovels, telehandlers, rollers, and other plant machinery as required.
  • Carry out excavation, trenching, grading, backfilling, loading, lifting, and site clearance works.
  • Conduct daily pre-start inspections and routine safety checks on machinery.
  • Report defects, faults, or maintenance requirements promptly.
  • Perform basic routine maintenance, including checking fluid levels, lubricating components, and cleaning equipment.
  • Follow site plans, engineering drawings, and supervisor instructions.
  • Ensure safe loading, unloading, and transportation of materials.
  • Work closely with groundworkers, site supervisors, and other construction personnel.
  • Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Maintain accurate equipment inspection records and daily activity logs.
  • Keep machinery clean and in good working condition.
  • Assist with general site duties when machinery is not in use.

Requirements

Proven experience operating heavy construction plant and machinery.

Valid plant operator certification or licence relevant to the equipment being operated

Good understanding of safe operating procedures for construction equipment.

Experience working on construction, civil engineering, infrastructure, or industrial projects.

Ability to read site plans and follow technical instructions.

Good awareness of workplace health and safety requirements.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
