Job description

With over 25 years of experience and headquartered in Rochdale, Simkiss specialises in the design and build of control systems, control panels and switchgear, delivering installation, testing, commissioning and ongoing maintenance services predominantly within the utilities sector.

Following its recent acquisition by United Infrastructure, Simkiss is entering an exciting new phase of growth, strengthening its technical capabilities and expanding its ability to deliver increasingly complex, end-to-end solutions across critical national infrastructure projects.

  • Maintain a clean and safe working area on site.
  • Load, unload, move and organise materials, tools and equipment.
  • Follow instructions from supervisors and qualified engineers.
  • Assist with the installation of switchgear
  • Use basic hand tools and equipment safely.
  • Report hazards, defects, incidents or near misses promptly.
  • Support general housekeeping and waste disposal on site.
  • Carry out any other reasonable tasks associated with the role as requested by the Site Supervisor, Engineering Manager or company
  • Ensure quality standards are met.
  • Comply with all site rules, PPE requirements and H&S regulations.

Minimum Qualifications/Experience:        

  • CCNSG

Desirable Qualifications/Experience:

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to communicate with Clients at all levels
  • Ability to travel at short notice, including long distances
  • Team player
  • Willing to work overtime when required, including working away from home Monday - Friday
  • Awareness of H+S regulations on site

Working away from home is expected around 80% of the year.
