Are you the person people call when their computers malfunction? Do you fix their problems so fast and easily?  Do you consider yourself really competent at fixing computers, synching printers and smart phones etc?

  • Responsible and accountable for achieving agreed SLAs
  • Client interaction, liaison and integration with customer networks and authentication systems
  • Liaison with third party application providers
  • Day-to-day management to demanding service targets for DC equipment
  • Expectation of 90% hands on and 10% management on a daily basis
  • Monitoring system health and reviewing security logs
  • Ensuring backups, remote monitoring and administration are effective
  • Ensuring that the Implementation of patches, software upgrades and configuration changes through a managed change control process is carried out
  • Managing and maintaining security technologies such as anti-virus, intrusion detection, VPNs
  • Documenting technical configuration and operational procedures
  • Administering software licenses and ensuring compliance with licence terms
  • Diagnosis and resolution of software and hardware issues affecting systems
  • Preparing management reports on infrastructure status, network utilization, security status etc.

Essential:
  • CCNA and/or MCP certified
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Professional team leader with excellent communication style
  • Experience of managing enterprise systems against agreed service targets
  • Understanding of industry best practice for IT in blue-chip organizations
  • Good analytical skills demonstrated through an ability to assess and present alternative solutions
  • The ability and willingness to gain skills in other technologies, with or without formal training
  • Previous experience of working in a mutli-vendor infrastructure environment


Proven competence at a very senior level in excess of 5+ years’ experience in most of our key technologies which include:

  • Hands-on systems administration, support, and operational experience with Microsoft server and client technologies, VSphere and Citrix Xenserver/Desktop
  • Windows Server 2003 / 2008
  • Microsoft Back office applications such as Exchange/SQL
  • Cisco IOS, including VPN setup and management
  • TCP/IP network management and network security (e.g. IDS / IDP)
  • Virtualization product sets
  • Expertise in Microsoft Active Directory and the Microsoft security model
  • Detailed knowledge of networking as it applies to Microsoft technologies and architecture
 
Experience and a good working knowledge of the following:
  • Active Directory Network and Direct Storage
  • DNS/WINS/DHCP Proxy
  • Switches
  • LAN/WAN infrastructure
  • HPServers/Desktops/Laptops/Thinclients
  • Legacy VMware Server, ESX 2 to 4, VI3,vSphere4
  • Disaster Recovery Solutions
  • Firewalls, DMZ
  • Antivirus
  • Phone Systems
  • IIS 3-7 WSUS
  • Open Source Solutions
Desirable:
  • Experience working in an outsourced environment
  • Apple technologies experience
  • Mobile technologies experience iOS, Android and Windows phone
