Our Global Legal team provides key support for all TikTok’s innovative initiatives, state-of-the-art products, and integrated platforms servicing our global video market. We help our technological and business teams enable their vision by providing integrated legal guidance and support. The TikTok team is growing fast and is seeking highly experienced, bright and capable legal professionals to join the team. The Global Employment Law team provides strategic and practical legal advice to Human Resources and business stakeholders globally, and handles litigation matters involving TikTok in all the regions in which TikTok operates.
We are looking for an employment lawyer to join our existing team of employment lawyers supporting the EMEA region. You should be a motivated, self-starter who can build strong relationships with our HR team and other stakeholders.
The successful candidate will form an integral part of the in-house legal team. The role is on-site and can be located in either Dublin or London.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a trusted advisor to HR and business stakeholders to help inform strategy and build policies and practices, in Ireland/UK and elsewhere in the EMEA region.
- Advise on all legal issues concerning the employment relationship, including recruitment; global mobility; workplace investigations; terminations and disputes.
- Collaborate with other legal counsel in our Global Legal team to provide consolidated strategic advice to stakeholders, including in relation to regional and global company initiatives.
- Support the ambitious growth agenda of the business by driving business partnership through smart risk-based solutions.
- Collaborate with HR to develop and draft policies, agreements, and business procedures designed to foster compliance with applicable employment law; and
- Prepare and deliver internal training on various employment legal matters.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- Qualified to practice law in Ireland / the UK, with 5+ years experience.
- Significant employment law experience in private practice with a highly regarded firm and/or an in-house legal department.
- Proven ability in navigating cross-border employment law issues in various jurisdictions, including experience with collective employment rights (eg works councils, trade unions).
- Comfortable advising in relation to GDPR and collaborating with data privacy legal counsel.
- Demonstrated judgment, personal integrity, interpersonal skills and excellent communication skills, including exceptional legal writing skills and the ability to craft persuasive and concise advice.
- Strong ability to work as a team player and effectively collaborate with colleagues from the Global Legal team and business stakeholders.
- Ability to handle a varied workload and prioritise as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience working in technology companies or high growth organizations.
- Prior experience in a large, multinational company environment.
- Expertise in overlapping disciplines, such as data privacy, immigration, health & safety, pensions.
