Job description

Control Risks is looking to hire an embedded Senior Regional Security Manager who will lead the security function for a major multinational consumer goods company across the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region, supporting corporate objectives and operational priorities. The role is responsible for engaging regional business leaders and aligning global security programmes with local requirements.

The role is based in the client’s London office, with full access to Control Risks offices as required.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform risk and threat assessments to develop Site Security Plans, and update our security posture to protect our people, facilities, and business in collaboration with business leaders, stakeholders, and external partners. 
  • Develop and implement comprehensive security strategies that mitigate security risks and align with our business strategy, and industry best practices.
  • Perform security audits to check the health of the program and ensure compliance with security standards.
  • Conduct security investigations by leading internal and external resources, support compliance investigations with security expertise, and lead the Threat Management Team’s cross-functional efforts in dimensioning and mitigating significant workplace violence threats and incidents.
  • Oversee the implementation of security standards, ensuring efficient resource allocation and cost-effective solutions.
  • Develop and guide the activities of Security Champions and Security Suppliers to ensure effective security coverage across all facilities within the region, compliance with the Security Guard Force Standard, and collaborate with Mill Managers, Business Segment Leaders, and Stakeholders to develop improvement roadmaps.
  • Manage Executive Protection activities including physical security of CEO’s office and residences, security awareness training, and security for Board of Director/Special meetings.
  • Collaborate with the Program Owner, Leadership Team and key stakeholders in driving implementation and improvements for the Physical Security Program (Systems, Security Guard Force and Global Security Operations Center).
  • Maintain cutting-edge subject matter expertise in security management, technology and trends in the industry and region.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with high-level law enforcement, intelligence, and private sector counterparts.
  • Brief senior executives on status of security incidents and serve on business segment level committees and working groups.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university or international equivalent in a relevant area of study.  Master’s degree or international equivalent in a relevant area of study a plus.
  • 10+ years of experience with a major law enforcement, intelligence agency or corporate security in managing security programs and proven cross functional collaboration. 
  • Strong communication skills and ability to influence leadership across all levels of the Global Security, business, and cross-functional organizations.
  • Demonstrated strengths in these areas: build trust, engage and understand business objectives and risk tolerance, and effectively integrate risk mitigation strategies into enterprise closely coordinated with business objectives.
  • Experience in establishing and maintaining a strong culture of compliance and have a proven track record of operating with the highest ethical standards.
  • Lead and mentor security professionals, fostering a culture of care, respect, continuous improvement, and professional development.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide direction to team members not in a direct reporting relationship.
  • 15-30% travel.

Highly desired:

  • Professional certifications such as CPP, CFE, or equivalent.
  • Experience within the manufacturing consumer goods sector.
