Job description

At Home Instead, we offer industry-leading care and support to adults in their own homes in the local area. Our Care Assistants benefit from award-winning training and ongoing support throughout their career journey, with options for accredited training in Dementia, Parkinson's and End of Life Care. We are committed to changing the face of ageing through delivering quality care to our clients and best in class education to our Care Assistants. We are proud to have recently been awarded a 5-Star Employer status from WorkBuzz, based on the views of our clients and Care Assistants.

If you're looking for a profession where you can bring your caring personality to work and change lives, look no further!

Feel the difference as a Care Professional with the Home Instead family.  At Home Instead, we always match our Care Pros with clients based on mutual interests, hobbies and personality, allowing strong relationships to flourish.  With one-hour minimum visits, there is always plenty of time to deliver the high-quality care that our clients need, and to really get to know the person that you are caring for, like you do your own family.

To help our clients remain happy, healthy and thriving in their own homes, your responsibilities may include:

  • Providing conversation, a friendly face and a companion during activities in the home and in the local community.
  • Supporting individuals to maintain independence and dignity with daily routines, including personal care, meal preparation and medication support.
  • Maintaining a clean, tidy and safe home environment by providing support with light housekeeping tasks.
  • Providing reminders and support to appointments or outings into the local community.

You don't require any specific qualifications or experience to become a domiciliary Care Assistant, you just need a full UK driving license and access to a vehicle to allow you to travel from client to client.

Why join Home Instead?

We believe that to care for our clients, we must first care for our team. We offer a supportive environment and a range of benefits, including:

  • Competitive pay: We value the incredible work our Care Assistants do.
  • Flexible hours: Work patterns that can fit around your personal life and commitments.
  • Award-winning training: Access to world-class, City & Guilds assured training and ongoing professional support.
  • The "gift of time": Minimum one-hour visits so you can focus on the person, not just the tasks.
  • Career progression: Opportunities to grow within the company and gain recognised qualifications.
  • Wellbeing support: Access to Employee Assistance Programme and supportive office team, available by phone 24/7.
  • Pension scheme: Planning for your future while you care for others.
