Job description
The Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and multinational in-house transportation operation. As a Customs Coordinator, you will place a crucial role in co-ordinating the import and export of products and components in and out of the UK, in strict compliance with business policy, customs legislation and industry regulations. Additionally, you will be tasked with planning international transports in the most cost-effective and time-efficient manner, contributing to the overall efficiency and success of our logistics operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the timely and accurate completion of Import & Export Customs Declarations
  • Provide 3rd party customs brokers with precise clearance instructions.
  • Classification of materials/products
  • Create and manage Customer NOVA and Import VAT/Duty Reports
  • Quote and process multi-modal international freight bookings efficiently.
  • Ensure all customer needs are met adhering to our Compliance Controls
  • Perform all other duties related to the process of customs clearing consignments through customs.

Tasks and Qualifications:

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in UK / EU Customs regulations and procedures
  • Excellent working knowledge of UK Customs Tariff (I, II, III)
  • Familiarity with quoting and processing multi-modal international freight bookings.
  • Has experience with HMRC Customs Declaration Service (CDS), ASM Sequoia or AEB, Destin8 and Pentant
  • Proven commercial background with a strong understanding of business operations.
  • Strong IT skills, including proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, Outlook, and Teams

- Previous experience in processing multi-modal international freight bookings, including Dangerous Goods, is beneficial

- Ability to build positive working relations with customers, suppliers, and colleagues

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to adapt style and language to suite different stakeholders.
