Job Description
As a Customer Quality Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between our manufacturing teams and our customers. You will ensure that quality concerns are investigated effectively and communicated with the transparency and professionalism our clients expect. Working alongside experienced quality professionals, you will gain exposure to complex engineering projects while building your expertise in quality assurance, structured root cause analysis (RCA), customer engagement, and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities
- Customer Investigations: Support customer-facing quality investigations, helping to identify root causes and coordinate effective corrective actions.
- Quality Planning: Assist in developing and maintaining quality plans that ensure products and processes meet customer, regulatory, and industry requirements.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with manufacturing, engineering, procurement, project management, and commercial teams to resolve quality challenges and ensure alignment.
- Documentation & Reporting: Contribute to customer reports, quality documentation, and project updates, ensuring all information is accurate, timely, and communicated professionally.
- Data Analysis: Analyze quality performance data to help identify trends, emerging risks, and opportunities for process improvement.
- Problem-Solving: Participate in structured root cause investigations using methodologies such as 5 Whys, Fishbone (Ishikawa), and Pareto Analysis.
- CAPA Management: Support the implementation and verification of Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs), ensuring actions are effective and documented.
- Audit Support: Assist with internal and external audits, helping to maintain ongoing compliance with the site’s Quality Management System (QMS).
- Continuous Improvement: Promote a culture of quality by sharing best practices and supporting improvement initiatives across the business.
Essential candidate requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Manufacturing, Aerospace, or a related engineering discipline.
- Experience: Proven experience within a manufacturing, engineering, or quality-focused environment (gained via employment, placement year, apprenticeship, or a graduate program).
- Quality Foundations: Working knowledge of quality management principles and manufacturing processes.
- Problem-Solving: Foundational understanding of root cause analysis and structured problem-solving techniques.
- Standards: Familiarity with ISO 9001 or comparable quality management standards.
- Analytical Ability: Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and identify performance trends.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills; capable of engaging effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Organization: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- You must hold a UK passport for Security Clearance (SC) to be considered for this role and a full UK driving licence. Please note we are unable to provide visa sponsorship for this position.
