Job description

At Home Instead Stockport we know how important it is for people in our local community to live where they feel most comfortable - at home. We are looking for caring, compassionate individuals to help us support others to stay independent in their own home.

Morning shifts are 8am - 2pm or 9:15am - 2pm, including alternate weekends.

Evening shifts are 4:15pm - 9pm or 5:30pm - 10:15pm including alternate weekends.

At Home Instead we know you can't provide the highest standard of care with 15-minute calls, and no one wants to be rushed. That's why we have minimum 1-hour calls plus suitable travel time to ensure you can take your time with clients, with mileage reimbursement. We match our Care Professionals and clients together based on skills, personality and interests. All initial calls with a client who is new to you will be introductions with the support of another colleague, so you can really get to know your client and their needs.

Benefits:

  • £13.00-£14.00 per hour plus 35p per mile.
  • £26 - £28 per hour on bank holidays.
  • Access to early pay scheme - be paid up to 50% of your monthly earnings instantly.
  • No uniform, stay comfortable in casual dress alongside your free Home Instead satchel, ID badge and PPE.
  • Paid face-to-face training delivered by a Registered Nurse.
  • Gain qualifications - you will earn your Care Certificate, and have the option to undertake your Level 2 or 3 Diploma, or City & Guilds certificates.
  • Refer a Friend Bonus - you and your friend will earn £250 EACH per referral.
  • Opportunities for career progression - many of our office staff started off as Care Professionals.
  • Access to Blue Light Card and Home Instead discounts.
  • We pay for your enhanced DBS check.
  • Support of local office in Offerton with a score of 9.8/10 on homecare.
  • 24-hour on call line.
  • Regular team Tea Breaks and Coffee Mornings.

Responsibilities as a Domiciliary Home Care Assistant:

  • Support with household tasks such as tidying, cleaning and laundry.
  • Make, or assist to make your client's favourite meals.
  • Offer companionship and social support, engaging with your client's hobbies and getting to know what they enjoy most.
  • Support with personal care tasks such as showering, washing/styling hair, and getting changed.
  • Take your client out to places of their choice, e.g. to a cafe or a local garden centre.
  • Write accurate daily notes and report any concerns as per company procedure.
  • Administer medication and record appropriately.

Requirements:

  • Experience is not required due to our comprehensive in-house training. However, any previous care experience either professional or personal is an advantage.
  • You must have a full driver's licence and your own vehicle.
  • You must be reliable and punctual to ensure we can continue to provide an excellent service to our clients.
  • Must have a caring, friendly personality and be happy to have a chat.
  • Must be able to commit to our hours options and work alternate weekends.
  • Must live in or near Stockport.

Sound interesting? Pop your application through, and let's have a chat!

Unfortunately, we do not have a licence to offer sponsorship.
