Commodities Portfolio Pricing & Valuations Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and analytical commodities pricing and valuations specialist to join a growing global team at Millennium. This is a high-impact, dynamic and fast-paced PM facing role offering broad exposure across commodity asset classes and strategies globally. You will engage directly with portfolio managers, technology and quant teams in analysing and implementing intraday and end of day curve marking, improving pricing models and curve/vol surface fitting, onboarding new pricing data sources, and evolving our real-time P&L and risk management platform. This is a unique opportunity for an entrepreneurial and creative individual to help scale up Commodities at Millennium. The successful candidate will be able to collaborate with multiple teams and departments and build a holistic knowledge base across commodities products, portfolio valuation, risk exposures and pricing modelling.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Play a key role in the development and maintenance of a best-in-class real-time pricing, risk and p&l platform for Commodities
  • Analyse, design and implement intraday real-time pricing and EOD marking of PM portfolios considering various data sources (exchanges, brokers, financial counterparties etc)
  • Build technical knowledge and contribute to the onboarding of new products in commodities to support a growing set of PM pods and portfolios.
  • Design and implement relevant data controls to ensure the integrity of real-time p&l and risk calculations
  • Work with PMs for ongoing pricing support and portfolio valuation and risk queries
  • Contribute to the ongoing improvement of intraday/EOD marking and P&L explain / Greek based predict methodologies
  • Collaborate with Portfolio Managers, Quant Research, Risk, Middle Office, Operations and various Technology and Data teams to advance the real-time pricing and valuations platform at Millennium

Qualifications/Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Economics, Engineering or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in a trading, quant risk or related role covering commodities, knowledge of European power and gas advantageous
  • Experience with pricing and modelling commodity physical and/or derivative products, good understanding of market risk fundamentals
  • Knowledge of non-linear/option products a strong plus
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills, showing attention to detail and strong ownership of work
  • Ability to prioritize and deliver effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a global team.
