Job description

Home Instead Lewes District & Uckfield is a locally owned, family-run business, with our office based in the heart of Ringmer. Our mission is to help older adults stay connected to the East Sussex communities they’ve loved for years, while continuing to live independently and comfortably in their own homes.

We provide personalised, relationship-led care to clients across Lewes District and Uckfield. Our Care Professionals play an essential role in helping older adults remain safe, independent, and connected to local life.

As a Care Professional, you’ll become a trusted presence in your clients’ homes, supporting their independence, comfort, and dignity. Visits may take place throughout the day, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, and some weekends, depending on your availability.

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Assisting with morning or evening routines

  • Preparing nutritious meals

  • Medication reminders

  • Accompanying clients to appointments or local activities

  • Supporting visits from family and friends

  • Providing warm, reassuring companionship

Every day is different, but each visit makes a meaningful difference to the lives of the people we support.

  • No prior care experience required (award-winning training provided at our Ringmer office)

  • Strong communication skills

  • Reliable transportation for visits across Lewes District and Uckfield

  • Excellent organisation and time management

  • A naturally caring and respectful attitude

  • UK residency required (no visa sponsorship available)

  • Driving licence and access to a vehicle preferred due to limited rural public transport

  • Minimum age 18

Home Instead is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of adults across East Sussex. All staff are expected to share this commitment. This role is subject to an enhanced DBS check and the right to work in the UK.
