Business Change Lead
Sky Subscriber Services Ltd
Apply to this jobChange Delivery sits at the heart of Sky’s business. We turn strategic ambition into delivered change, leading the programmes that matter most to our customers, our people and the Consumer CEO agenda.
We are the team that helps Sky move from idea to impact. Whether we are launching a new product, shaping a major proposition change or transforming the way our contact centres and engineers serve customers. Change Delivery brings the structure, pace and leadership needed to make complex change happen.
Our work connects technology, product, commercial and operational teams across the business, to create a clear route from strategy through to launch, stabilisation and handover.
Recent programmes include the launch of Sky Glass Air, Sky Smart Home and Sky’s CityFibre partnership, alongside work to roll out our best Sky Mobile and Sky Broadband services to more customers than ever before.
As a Business Change Lead, you’ll take ownership of end-to-end delivery on some of Sky’s biggest and most visible programmes, including major product launches across TV, Connectivity and Smart Home. You’ll lead in environments where the answer is not always clear, setting direction, building confidence and bringing teams with you through ambiguity.
This is a role for someone with a transformation mindset: someone who can see the bigger picture, translate complexity into a clear story, and use data, insight and judgement to help senior leaders make informed decisions. You’ll be comfortable communicating at executive level, shaping the narrative, surfacing the right risks and decisions, and keeping momentum when delivery is challenging.
Our Business Change Leads are part of the Change Delivery People Leadership team, alongside the Heads of Delivery. They line manage and matrix lead Business Change Managers, helping ambitious delivery professionals grow while ensuring our programmes are set up to land well for customers, colleagues and the business.
What you’ll do
Lead high-profile, end-to-end programmes from early scoping and mobilisation through to launch readiness, implementation, stabilisation and handover into BAU.
Set direction in complex and ambiguous environments, creating clarity on objectives, scope, outcomes, delivery approach and the decisions needed to move forward.
Create and run the right programme rhythm, including integrated planning, governance, progress tracking, reporting, escalation and senior decision-making.
Coordinate delivery across multiple teams including technology, commercial product, global product, commercial and operations, flexing confidently across agile, waterfall and hybrid delivery methods.
Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders and delivery partners, using clear, data-informed communication to maintain alignment, confidence and pace.
Turn delivery information, risks and insight into compelling narratives that help executive audiences understand progress, trade-offs, decisions and customer impact.
Line manage and matrix lead Business Change Managers, balancing people leadership with programme priorities and creating the conditions for high-quality change outcomes.
Play an active role in department-wide initiatives, helping strengthen how Change Delivery operates, communicates and delivers for the business.
What you’ll bring
Essential criteria:
Proven experience delivering complex, cross-functional programmes in fast-paced, large organisations, ideally within communications, media, technology or customer operations environments.
Strong end-to-end programme leadership, with practical experience across mobilisation, governance design, integrated planning, RAID and dependency management, delivery reporting, launch readiness and handover.
A transformation mindset, with the ability to connect strategy to execution, challenge constructively, simplify complexity and keep teams focused on outcomes.
Excellent senior and executive level stakeholder communication skills, with the judgement to tailor messages, tell a clear story from data and insight, surface decisions and maintain confidence when delivery is challenging.
Confidence setting direction where there is ambiguity, incomplete information or competing priorities, bringing enough structure to enable progress without slowing delivery down.
Outstanding problem solving, planning and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to bring diverse groups together and drive shared solutions to complex delivery challenges.
A self-starting, delivery-focused approach, with the ability to spot what needs to be done, take ownership without waiting for direction and maintain momentum across multiple moving parts.
Inclusive leadership experience, with a track record of leading ambitious individuals and flexing between strategic direction and delivery detail when programmes need additional focus.
Desirable skills and experience:
Experience working across agile, waterfall and hybrid methodologies; SAFe agile experience is desirable but not essential.
Confidence with AI tools and enthusiasm for developing how these can be applied in the workplace to support delivery excellence.
