Job Title: Assistant Underwriter – Italian Speaking
Location: London

Role Overview 

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Assistant Underwriter to support our underwriting team in assessing risk and administering insurance policies. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build or further develop a career within the insurance industry. Fluency in Italian is essential, as the role involves communication with Italian-speaking clients or partners. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Assist underwriters in evaluating insurance applications and assessing risk exposure 
  • Prepare and review policy documentation, endorsements, and renewals 
  • Liaise with brokers, clients, and internal teams to gather necessary information 
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records within underwriting systems 
  • Support the underwriting process by analysing data and producing reports 
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and underwriting guidelines 
  • Handle general administrative duties related to underwriting operations 
  • Provide excellent customer service, including responding to queries in a timely manner 

Skills & Experience 

Essential: 

  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team 
  • Fluency in Italian (spoken and written) 

Desirable (Non-Essential): 

  • Previous experience in the insurance industry or underwriting environment 
  • Understanding of insurance principles and risk assessment 
  • Experience working with underwriting systems or databases
