Apply to this jobWe are looking for a Senior Asset Valuations Analyst to join us in our London office. This 12-month contract is suited to an experienced valuations analyst who can add immediate hands-on support to the Asset Valuations team, with limited ramp-up.
The role will focus on strengthening valuation oversight across OTC derivatives and secured finance products, supporting remediation of valuation issues, enhancing controls and improving day-to-day processes. The contractor will work closely with internal stakeholders, model owners, vendors, counterparties and outsourced partners to maintain high valuation standards, reduce operational risk and provide practical technical expertise where additional capacity and specialist knowledge are required.
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver daily, monthly and quarterly quality control checks across OTC derivative and secured finance asset valuations, identifying breaks, exceptions and areas requiring escalation.
- Work directly with pricing model owners and internal stakeholders to investigate valuation issues and support practical remediation plans.
- Track valuation findings, recommendations and management action plans, ensuring actions are progressed, evidenced and closed within agreed timelines.
- Prepare MI, metrics and committee reporting for asset valuations, including input for OTC Pricing and Valuation Committees.
- Support valuation policy and practice awareness by working with key stakeholders to clarify processes, controls and required standards.
- Identify and deliver improvements to valuation processes, procedures and controls, with a focus on reducing operational risk and improving consistency.
- Engage with market data vendors, counterparties and outsourced partners to resolve valuation queries and support the valuation of Insight-managed positions.
- Support pricing and valuation policy maintenance, including adherence checks, updates and preparation for appropriate committee review and approval.
- Assist with model validation testing, including review of model inputs, assumptions and valuation methodology.
Experience Required:
- Strong hands-on experience in OTC derivatives valuations, product control, risk, middle office or asset valuations, ideally gained within an investment bank or investment manager environment.
- Practical understanding of OTC derivative and secured finance pricing, including IRS, inflation products, options, fixed income derivatives, loans and related valuation drivers.
- Advanced Excel capability is required; VBA, SQL or similar data manipulation experience would be beneficial.
- Strong understanding of OTC collateral management, including the valuation impact of CSA terms.
- Experience across exchange-traded derivatives and securities valuations would be useful.
- Able to work independently, engage effectively with stakeholders and provide clear, concise updates on valuation issues and remediation progress.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise multiple valuation tasks across fixed daily, monthly and quarterly deadlines.
- Comfortable operating in a time-sensitive control environment with limited ramp-up.
- Bloomberg experience is required.
- Demonstrable experience improving or streamlining valuation processes, controls or reporting outputs.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate root causes and recommend practical solutions.
- Proactive, delivery-focused and comfortable picking up complex valuation issues quickly.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, particularly when reviewing valuation outputs, inputs and exceptions.
- Familiarity with valuation governance, regulatory expectations and pricing policy frameworks would be beneficial.
