Job description

Our Telecommunications group is currently looking to add a Labourer to our team, based in Winnipeg, MB.

Reporting to the Foreman, we are seeking motivated and enthusiastic Construction Labourers with the ability to support a variety of job functions. This position is responsible for day-to-day manual tasks on the project and must demonstrate a sound work ethic to complete physical tasks.

Please Note: This position will work 5 - 6 days / week, 10 hours / day outdoors in a variety of conditions.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Complete job tasks (including but not limited to: Sweeping, Shoveling, Assembling, Cleaning)
  • Provide manual labour assistance as required
  • Transport appropriate tools to the worksite, confirm all tools function properly before use, and ensure equipment and tools are safely stored
  • Operate basic hand and power tools in a safe manner (including, but not limited to: skill saws, snow blowers, grinders etc.)
  • Adhere to all company specific and industry specific safety regulations, ensuring highest standard of safety is upheld
  • Participate in tailboard meetings, including identification of potential work site hazards
  • Report potential hazards to Foremen or Journeymen
  • Other duties as required by crews

Requirements

  • Previous Construction experience
  • Class 5 drivers license with clean drivers abstract
  • Physically fit with the ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
  • Proven knowledge of safety practices, procedures and requirements
  • Knowledge of safe operation of basic hand and power tools
