The Opportunity:

As a Summer Student with the Legal & Compliance team, you will be assisting the team with daily tasks and projects. This is a great opportunity to learn from seasoned professionals in the legal and compliance field within insurance.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct legal research and draft legal memorandums on various areas of law, including but not limited to insurance and privacy.
  • Support the organization’s ongoing projects aimed at improving efficiency and other duties, including preparing internal communications and reports.
  • Assist with the development and facilitation of basic legal training programs for business units.
  • Provide general support to the Legal & Compliance team.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • You are a current student and have completed at least a first year in an accredited J.D. or LL.B. program.
  • You have a demonstrated interest in insurance and/or commercial business law.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and accurate.
  • Sound judgement, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Passion for learning and taking on new challenges.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities concurrently.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and work both independently and as part of a team.

Hiring Pay Rate:

CAD $24 per hour.
