Job description

At Cadence, we hire and develop leaders and innovators who want to make an impact on the world of technology.

Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated early-career engineer to support the development of an advanced software platform focused on cost planning, simulation, and early feasibility evaluation of sheet metal components.

This role is ideally suited for candidates with a strong background in engineering, physics, applied mathematics, or a related technical discipline who have some experience developing in C++ and embrace AI as a core element of their software development practice.

Successful candidates are expected to be AI-native developers, leveraging modern AI tools, coding assistants, agent frameworks, and structured reasoning techniques throughout the software lifecycle—from requirements analysis and system decomposition to implementation, testing, and maintenance.

The ideal candidate combines strong software engineering fundamentals with hands-on experience in Python, RESTful APIs, distributed systems, and agent-based architectures. They are comfortable breaking complex engineering problems into manageable components and designing robust solutions that integrate AI capabilities into product workflows.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement new algorithms and methodologies to enhance simulation and cost estimation capabilities
  • Translate engineering concepts into robust, production-ready software features
  • Conduct feasibility studies to evaluate new approaches and validate performance
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate new capabilities into the software platform

Skills/Experience

  • Strong programming skills in Python, QT, C++, VBA
  • Proficient experience in using VS Studio, VS code, git and azure DevOps as development environment and debugging.
  • Hands on working experience in Agile development methodologies.
  • AI-native mindset with experience using modern AI tools and techniques in development workflows
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Self-driven, curious, and eager to explore new technologies and methodologies

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in: Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, or related), Applied Mathematics, Physics, Software Engineering or Computer Science

Preferred (Nice to Have):

  • Knowledge of metal forming processes
  • Familiarity with finite element methods (FEM) and simulation techniques
  • Experience with numerical methods or physics-based modeling

Soft Skills

  • Strong team collaboration skills using MS Teams and Zoom
  • Clear and effective English communication (written, verbal and presentation)
  • Self-driven, curious, and eager to explore new technologies and methodologies

What You Will Gain

  • Hands-on experience in advanced simulation software development
  • Opportunity to work at the intersection of engineering physics, algorithms, and AI-driven workflows
  • Exposure to real-world industrial applications in manufacturing and design

We’re doing work that matters. Help us solve what others can’t.

We welcome applications from candidates with disabilities and in equity seeking groups. If you have accessibility needs during the application and interview process, we encourage you to make your needs known.
