Our Senior Casualty Claims Adjusters are responsible for the investigation, evaluation, and settlement of moderate to serious bodily injury and property damage liability claims and claims in litigation. They play a crucial role in ensuring fair and timely resolution of claims by conducting thorough investigations, analyzing complex information, and collaborating with legal and medical professionals. Additionally, they are tasked with negotiating settlements, preparing detailed reports, and providing exceptional customer service to claimants and policyholders. Their expertise and dedication help maintain the integrity of our claims process and uphold our commitment to delivering quality service.

What will you do?

  • Investigate, evaluate, negotiate, and settle moderate to serious Casualty claims, including Auto BI and Commercial General Liability claims.
  • Proactively manage your desk by adhering to deadlines, keeping clear notes, prioritizing tasks, and maintaining timely and accurate reserves
  • Prepare large files for discussion and review with our claims leadership team when setting and amending reserves.
  • Attend mediations, trials, pre-trials, arbitrations  

 What will you need to succeed?

  • Minimum 3 years casualty file handling required
  • University or college degree or equivalent
  • CGL experience preferred 
  • CIP designation preferred  
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills 
  • Good organizational and time management skills 
  • Strong analytical and negotiation skills 
  • Travel may be required

 

Permanent, Full-Time 

Hybrid: This is a hybrid role. Please note, regular in-person workdays at our Cambridge Office or Toronto Office are expected minimum of two a week.

 

The expected base salary range for this position is $56,000 - $103,500. Depending on your relevant experience, skills, qualifications, market conditions and business needs, base compensation may vary. You have the potential to earn more through Gore Mutual’s discretionary bonus program which gives you an opportunity to increase your total compensation, provided the business meets its performance targets and you meet your individual goals.

Please note: This range reflects the expected base salary for this role but may not represent the full compensation range for all experience and skill levels. During the recruitment process, we will discuss and consider how your unique qualifications align with the broader range for this position.
