Job description

Job Summary: 

The Project Manager – Building Science serves to manage building envelop and restorations projects from initial stage to the completion of the project, including the investigation/ rehabilitation of curtain wall, roof, window, sealant, parking lot, concrete and masonry.

In this role, you will: 

  • Provide engineering expertise to prepare design drawings and specifications for the repair and rehabilitation of building envelope components and deteriorated structures.
  • Conduct condition survey assessments through the testing and evaluation of building envelope and concrete systems for residential, commercial and industrial buildings
  • Manage junior staff and project associate in conducting condition assessments
  • Prioritize and deliver multiple small/medium projects, from beginning to end, independently
  • Drive business development activities in the Eastern Ontario, Gatineau and Montréal areas, including scheduling, budgeting, tendering, contract administration, business development, and preparation of proposals.
  • Use initiative and judgment to resolve problems, interpret engineering specifications, and investigate design and field engineering difficulties.

You will be a great fit if: 

  • You are knowledgeable about related disciplines/fields of engineering
  • You have a bachelor’s degree in Applied Science or Engineering from an accredited University
  • You have a minimum of 3 years prior experience in building science in a consulting or contracting environment
  • You have a P.Eng. license and driving license
  • You thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic team-oriented environment
  • You have working knowledge of Ontario building codes and standards
  • You have experience assessing and repairing some of the following elements: Curtain walls, windows and sealant, roof waterproofing, concrete, steel and masonry.
  • French oral and writing communication capabilities will be considered an asset but are not mandatory.

Location: Ottawa, ON (Hybrid)

Compensation:   $80,000 to $95,000 CAD depending on experience
