Role Overview
As a STEM Instructor & Program Coordinator, you'll play a key role in both delivering exceptional classes and helping our programs operate at a high level.
Hours and Structure:
- Up to 35 hours per week
- Hours vary depending on the season
- Ability to work on weekends is a bonus
Responsibilities
- Teach engaging Coding, Robotics, Minecraft, and other STEM programs for students ages 5–13.

Create a fun, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment where every child can thrive.

Adapt lessons to different learning styles and skill levels.

Help students build confidence while developing real STEM and problem-solving skills.

Lead the successful delivery of classes, camps, PA Days, birthday parties, and special events.

Support and coach instructors with classroom management and teaching best practices.

Help recruit, onboard, and mentor new instructors.

Assist with scheduling, staffing, inventory, equipment, and day-to-day program logistics.

Improve systems and processes as MakerKids continues to grow.

Troubleshoot operational and technology issues as they arise.

Ensure each location is organized, prepared, and ready for programming.

Build positive relationships with families through excellent customer service.
- Respond professionally to parent questions and concerns.
What We’re Looking For:
- Has recently graduated (or is graduating soon) in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related STEM field
- Enjoys teaching and genuinely loves working with children
- Is highly organized and naturally takes ownership of projects
- Can confidently solve problems and make decisions independently
- Communicates clearly with children, parents, and teammates
- Thrives in a fast-paced environment where every day is different
- Wants to develop leadership, management, and operations skills—not just teach classes
- Is excited by the opportunity to help build and improve a growing company
Specific Certifications/Qualifications:
- Must be able to work at multiple MakerKids locations
- Main locations: 2451 Bloor Street West & 1661 Bayview Avenue
- Mississauga location as needed
- Valid Standard First Aid & CPR Level C (or willing to obtain)
- Willing to undergo a Vulnerable Sector Check annually
