Job Description and Responsibilities

Interpro Pipe and Steel's Regina facility is seeking a highly analytical and collaborative Process Automation Engineer professional to design, develop, and deploy data-driven solutions that address complex business and operational challenges. This role works closely with cross-functional teams to transform data into actionable insights, integrate machine learning models into production systems, and support continuous process improvement across the organization.

  • Design and deploy machine learning algorithms to solve complex problems

  • Collaborate with data engineers and process engineers to ensure the availability of high-quality data for model training and evaluation

  • Analyze and interpret data to provide actionable insights and recommendations

  • Support the integration of machine learning models into existing systems and processes

  • Create dashboards and reports that visualize key performance indicators and communicate insights to stakeholders

  • Collaborate with departments such as Operations, Quality Assurance, and R&D to support simulations and process improvements

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field

  • 3-5 years of experience in applying machine learning or data science in the steel industry

  • Must be eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer in Saskatchewan

  • Expertise in data science techniques and machine learning algorithms

  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, and .NET

  • Experience with data cleansing routines and SQL for data gathering

  • Familiarity with EAF-based steelmaking, hot strip rolling and/or tubular production processes an asset
