About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to join our payroll team. This role is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of employee payroll while ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable legislation.

The successful candidate will have strong payroll processing experience, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process end-to-end bi-weekly payroll accurately and on time.

  • Review, validate, and reconcile employee time records and payroll data.

  • Calculate and process overtime, statutory holiday pay, paid time off, retroactive adjustments, and other payroll transactions.

  • Receive and process payroll changes, including new hires, terminations, and employee updates.

  • Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies.

  • Respond to employee payroll-related inquiries in a timely and professional manner.

  • Maintain accurate payroll records and supporting documentation.

  • Support payroll reconciliations, reporting, audits, and year-end activities.

  • Collaborate with HR, Operations, and Finance to ensure payroll accuracy and compliance.

  • Assist with payroll process improvements and documentation.

  • Support payroll administration for employees covered by collective bargaining agreements.

Qualifications

Required

  • Minimum 3 years of payroll processing experience.

  • Experience using ADP payroll systems.

  • Strong knowledge of payroll practices and employment standards legislation.

  • Advanced Excel skills.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict payroll deadlines.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred

  • PCP designation or working towards certification.

  • Experience supporting unionized workforces or interpreting collective bargaining agreements.

  • Experience with payroll reconciliations and year-end processing.

Pay Range: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00*

*The above stated pay range is the anticipated starting salary range for the position. The Company may adjust this range in light of prevailing market conditions and other factors such as location. The Company will work directly with the selected candidate(s) on the final starting salary in accordance with all applicable laws.
