This position will report to the Manager, Professional Practitioner.

Accountabilities:

  • Provide quality occupational therapy services within a client-centred framework
  • Determine the physical, perceptual, cognitive and functional status of patients through administration of formal and informal assessments; plan and implement interventions to enhance overall functioning; and make recommendations regarding level of support required upon discharge
  • Provide education to the patients, their families, students and interdisciplinary members and participate in interdisciplinary rounds, meetings, committees and quality initiatives in the program and occupational therapy team as needed
  • Practice in accordance with the standards of professional practice and code of ethics as outlined by the COTO
    • BSc or MSc in Occupational Therapy or equivalent
    • Registered and in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario
    • Membership in CAOT or OSOT preferred
    • Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking and comprehension)
    • Recent experience in adult physical medicine
    • Basic knowledge of evidence-based clinical practice related to general medicine and rehab clients
    • Experience with psychosocial, cognitive, perceptual and physical health related assessment and intervention skills addressing occupational performance
    • Demonstrated ability to manage high caseload volumes
    • Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment with excellent time management and organizational skills required
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required
    • Good critical thinking and problem-solving skills required

    • Excellent attendance, punctuality, and work record
    • May be required to travel between and work at all Osler sites

    Hours: Currently days/evenings, 8 hours including weekends and statutory holidays (subject to change in accordance with operational requirements)
