Maintenance Supervisor

The location in Port Alberni, British Columbia, Canada, is seeking talent to fill the position of Maintenance Supervisor.

This job is full-time permanent.

Job Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

•  Motivate the maintenance personnel. 
•  Determine proper crew for the job, coordinate, and follow-up.
•  Be responsible for maintenance in the area assigned. 
•  Perform safety and quality monitoring of the job.
•  Recommend improvements and cost reductions.
•  Identify the causes of failures for breakdowns and repetitive repairs.
•  Recommend skill levels and training courses for apprentices and journeymen.

• Ability to understand requirements and ensure compliance with all safety and environmental regulations.
• Ability to prioritize, make sound decisions, and resolve issues efficiently and effectively.
• Proven analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Strong interpersonal, leadership and time management skills.
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels within the company.
• Ability to work independently and as a team.
• High degree of collaboration with both Maintenance and Operations personnel.
• Working knowledge of Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
• Excellent computer skills. 

Required Qualifications:

• Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Technologist or Red Seal trades certification; and,
• Related industry experience.
• Minimum 3-5 yrs of equivalent experience.
