Heavy Equipment Technician, Road Service

Calgary, Alberta

 

About the Role

We are looking for a skilled, reliable, and safety-conscious Heavy Equipment Technician to join our team. In this role, you will perform mechanical repairs, hydraulic and electrical diagnostics, preventative maintenance, and inspections on a variety of heavy equipment represented by JJE. The successful candidate is detail-oriented, self-motivated, and committed to delivering high-quality repairs in a timely and efficient manner. You will work closely with the Service Writer, Parts team, Lead Hand, and Service Manager to ensure seamless operations while traveling between branches, client sites, and worksites as required.
 

What You’ll Do

  • Perform mechanical repairs on a variety of heavy equipment represented by JJE
  • Perform hydraulic and electrical diagnostics
  • Conduct repairs in a timely and effective manner, communicating effectively with the Service Writer and Parts team to ensure optimal efficiency
  • Conduct regular preventative maintenance tasks and inspections
  • Communicate with Lead Hand and/or Service Manager regarding job progress and job status changes
  • Regular travel throughout Calgary region and surrounding areas is required

Location – Calgary, Alberta

Status - Permanent

Position Type – Hourly position

Schedule - Monday-Friday - occasional extended hours may be required based on operational needs.

What You Bring

  • Licensed heavy duty, on-off road mechanic – Journeyperson
  • 3+ years of experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems
  • Positive attitude, safety-first mindset, and a team-oriented approach
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication skills

 

 

Additional Requirements:

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean abstract

 

Work Environment

  • Shop, Warehouse, Yard, Road environment
  • Frequent exposure to noise, dust and dirt
