Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanic

Where will you work: Onsite – Colonsay, Saskatchewan

(Colonsay is located approximately 42 miles from City of Saskatoon, with an average driving time of about 45 minutes)

Shift Schedule – 4/4/10

Hourly: - $63.42, As per CBA

As a Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanic will safely and efficiently perform the duties of a Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanic in an assigned area on an assigned shift.

What you’ll do?

• Reporting to the maintenance supervisor you will work as part of a team and be responsible for servicing the surface mobile equipment and/ or the underground mobile equipment fleet.

• Work safely in an industrial environment and able to follow the procedures and policies that are in place.

• Perform preventative maintenance inspections, lubricate, diagnose, adjust, repair and overhaul as required.

• Basic computer skills and ability to communicate and report any deficiencies or corrections noticed during routine maintenance or inspections either verbally or in writing.

• Willingness to learn and gain adequate knowledge and experience through training.

• Play a critical role not only ensuring your own safety, but the safety of others.

• Be able to work in the field, shop or underground.

• This position may work a shift rotation requiring weekend work.

What you’ll need:

• The successful applicant must hold a Interprovincial Journeyperson Red Seal certificate.

• Previous experience in a Mining or an Industrial Environment is an asset, (2-3 years).

• Employment is subject to successfully completing Mosaic's pre-employment checks including criminal, drug and alcohol testing.

• Must be authorized to work in Canada.
