Engineering at StackAdapt:
As an Engineer at StackAdapt, you will be directly involved in the development of our advertising platform, producing production-level code that will have a direct impact on the success of our product. You will work with large data sets and have exposure to modern tech stacks around GoLang, Ruby on Rails, React, GraphQL and more. About the Team:
The Total Media team is focused on building a brand-new ad operating system for the platform. They are developing the foundational infrastructure and gateways required to interact and orchestrate with major digital ecosystems. As a core entry point for multi-channel strategy, the team focuses on complex integrations that allow for seamless, unified execution across the broader advertising landscape.
StackAdapt is a Remote First company, we are open to candidates located anywhere in Canada for this position.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Build and operate integrations that support Ads campaign management lifecycle
- Implement a lifecycle state machine and orchestration for activation and updates across entity hierarchies, across multiple advertising and marketing partners
- Build reliability patterns for production integrations: rate-limit handling, pagination, batching, circuit breakers, and drift detection/reconciliation for eventual consistency
- Collaborate with team members on designing scalable, well tested, and well documented web architecture, including APIs and backend systems
- Be able to take responsibility and ownership of projects from start to finish
What You'll Bring to the Table:
- 2+ years of full-time work experience building highly performant web applications
- Strong backend experience building API-driven products, including GraphQL and REST
- Proven experience integrating third-party / partner APIs in production, including:
- Handling rate limits, pagination, retries/backoff, and partial failures
- Designing idempotent create/update/activate operations
- Translating partner validation errors into clear, actionable user-facing messages
- Develop clear internal documentation to help engineers run the application locally and troubleshoot/debug issues efficiently
- Experience implementing OAuth 2.0 (authorization code flow + refresh tokens) and secure credential handling (scopes/permissions, token rotation, secrets management)
- Strong fundamentals in data modelling and system design for integrations: internal ↔ external ID mapping, status/state mapping, drift detection, and repair/replay tooling
- Comfort using AI-assisted developer tooling and/or building agentic workflows to accelerate delivery and improve operational quality
The compensation range listed for this role reflects the expected base salary for candidates located in the posting country based on a global rate. It is informed by market data and the approved budget for this position. StackAdapt maintains different compensation ranges for roles across other countries and regions, and final offers will be aligned to the candidate’s current location. We do not ask candidates about current or prior salary history, and we will not use such information, if volunteered, in setting an offer.
This range represents base salary only. Depending on the role, candidates may also be eligible for additional compensation such as annual bonuses, commissions, equity awards, and a comprehensive benefits package.

- The final compensation offer will be determined by a variety of factors, which may include, but are not limited to: the candidate's specific experience, technical skills, knowledge, abilities, and relevant education, licensure, and certifications.
