What we offer:

  • Hourly pay for this position is to start at CAD26.50 /hr, plus overtime after 44 hours

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Forklift Operator (afternoon shift) to join our team. As a key member of our yard operations, you will be responsible for efficiently handling and manoeuvring materials using a variety of equipment.

  • Operating skid steer and forklift machinery to move and process scrap metal materials within the shredder department
  • Sorting and segregating various types of metals using appropriate attachments on the skid steer
  • Loading and unloading materials from trucks, containers, and processing equipment
  • Maintaining a clean and organized (yard) work area to ensure safety and efficiency
  • Assisting in general maintenance tasks for equipment and facility upkeep during any downtime
  • Proven experience as a Forklift Operator in a heavy industrial setting is a asset
  • Previous general labour experience required
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety
  • Comfortable working outdoors in various types of weather (heat, cold, rain, snow, etc)
  • Ability to work in a noisy and dusty, heavy industrial setting
