GFL Environmental is looking for a Supervisor to help lead the growing team in HRM, NS! Providing innovative civil, contaminated soils, mobile water treatment, hazardous waste, petroleum, and general labour support to our clients ranging from industrial plants to large construction, consulting/engineering companies and Municipalities throughout Atlantic Canada.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Involved in the planning and execution of a wide variety of projects
  • Lead a crew to safety and efficiently execute jobs
  • Ensure safety and project paperwork is maintained
  • Ensure on-site operations are conducted in accordance with corporate policies and procedures within permit conditions and to customer specifications
  • Supervise daily activities to ensure project targets are met
  • Assist with Estimating project costs for tender purposes
  • Assist with Develop and execute work plans aimed at keeping projects on schedule and on budget
  • Assist with project planning and scheduling under guidance of manager
  • Maintain trucks and equipment in order to provide efficient operation.
  • Create and sustain working relationship with coworkers, contractors and municipal inspectors.
  • Comply with and follow company safety policies and procedures.

Knowledge, Skills and Competencies:

  • Must have experience in one of the following: Industrial Cleaning, Water Treatment, civil excavation, demolition, waste management, concrete, general construction
  • Supervisory experience an asset
  • Mechanical inclination
  • Confined Space Experience.
  • Display flexibility and confidentiality.
  • Highly driven, focused and self-motivated.
  • Must work well in a team environment.
  • Overnight Weekday travel in company vehicle up to 50% of the time.
  • 10-12 hour shifts
