  • Hourly pay for this position is to start at CAD26.50 /hr, plus overtime after 44 hours.

We are currently seeking a dedicated Inspector to join our Ferrous team.  The shift times are Monday-Friday, on a rotating bi-weekly shift basis of 6:30am-3pm and 12:30pm-9pm .This position requires strong attention to detail, knowledge of ferrous/non ferrous metals, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

 

What you’re responsible for:

  • Conducting thorough inspections of incoming and outgoing materials to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications
  • Identify and segregating non-conforming materials, such as contaminants or prohibited items
  • Utilizing appropriate tools and equipment to measure and verify the weight, dimensions, and composition materials
  • Collaborating with the operations team to coordinate the movement and storage of materials within the yard
  • Communicating and reporting any deviations from quality standards

To join our team:

  • You have previous experience in a similar role within the metal recycling industry, specifically in materials inspection, is highly desirable
  • You have knowledge of ferrous and non-ferrous metals, their properties, and common contaminants or impurities
  • You have familiarity with relevant tools and equipment used for measurement and inspection, such as scales, callipers, magnet testers, etc.
  • You have the ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including lifting and moving heavy objects
  • You have proficient in using computer systems and software for data entry and record keeping
  • You are comfortable working in a heavy industrial environment and being exposed to various weather conditions
